Seth Meyers, Psy.D. -- Clinical Psychologist
Self-esteem is a psychologically interesting construct in that people may want to believe there self-esteem is a certain way (high, for example) but their behavior may show actually that their self-esteem is probably lower than they want to believe.
One thing that I find as a psychologist is that people think of self-esteem as an abstract concept that is written on posters in school hallways, for instance, but self-esteem -- high or low -- can be seen in many different examples in everyday life.
Check out my short video from my Dr. Seth: Psychologist YouTube channel on the subject here!
