Do narcissists want obedience and compliance? It looks on the surface like the need for compliance. Narcissists want compliance from you in a certain sense. But the way they want you to comply is very specific.

The narcissist wants you to comply most of all with the way the narcissist wants to see themselves: which is important, special, and superior.

 When you challenge a narcissist, it can set them off and trigger intense anger or even rage. We’re talking seething anger, the kind that brews and stews, that boils. When you challenge them, it isn’t like it’s a simple opinion shared from one person to another – it can feel like an ASSAULT.
