How Many Couples Get Engaged on Valentine's Day?

 I just read a wild statistic courtesy of an American Express survey: Six million couples will get engaged this year on Valentine's Day! That number is surprising to me, and it seems to surprise American Express, too, because the number of engagements this year will rise 50 percent from last year. I guess people are just feeling extra romantic this year.
