Wait, We Don't Have to Think of Stress As "Bad?" A Revolutionary, Research-Based Approach to Stress

In the last week, I came across some fascinating research from Stanford University lecturer Kelly McGonigal on the topic of stress, and specifically a mindset shift one can practice to think about stress.

The research suggests that one's beliefs about stress matter and that adopting a more positive approach to it can be helpful. One point from McGonigal is to remember that when we feel stress, we can think of stress as energy, and we can channel that energy into productive behaviors. This one point alone is significant because we often think about stress as something that controls us, takes over us—almost hijacks us. In other words, it's often as if we have no control over stress and we are prisoners to it, simply waiting passively for it to pass.

In my new video, I talk about this. It's one of hundreds of videos I have on my YouTube channel, Dr. Seth: Psychologist. Check it out!
