PSYCHOLOGICAL TIP: What to Do When You Have Revenge Fantasies

When you find yourself frustrated to the point that you start having revenge fantasies, it's a sign that you feel that everything is out of control on in the inside. Usually, the random people or events that trigger the most anger are merely the surface targets; the truth is that you're probably responding to feeling helpless or out of control in some other major ways in your life.

What to Do: Identify your feelings and label them. Are you angry? Bitter? Resentful? Exhausted? Next, distract yourself with a totally unrelated activity which will absorb your mental energy. Call a friend who makes you laugh or start working on a financial budget for next month. Finally, sleep on it. Nothing clears the mind like a good night's sleep!
