POP CULTURE: Another Pro Gay Athlete Comes Out

Congratulations to Robbie Rogers, professional soccer player from L.A. Galaxy (and previously, the powerhouse Leeds United), for coming out of the closet. The more professional athletes come out, the less stigma homosexuality will have - and the fewer gay adolescents will commit suicide.

Now, the truth is that Mr. Rogers is quite the looker with a website that boasts lots of model-esque photos. In other words, he's not short on self-promotion. Will Rogers get some high-paying endorsements or paid events as a result? You bet. Did it motivate him - at least a little -  to come out publicly? I wonder, but that still wouldn't take away from the overall positive message he sends in coming out.
