CELEBRITY: Melissa McCarthy as High Fashion Model?

I loved this cover when I first saw it, and I love the fact that Elle had the chutzpah to put someone overweight on the cover. Of course, we rarely see someone overweight on a magazine cover – even if that celebrity is only ten or so pounds overweight. Did Elle have to hide her body in order to pull off the shot? There is no denying that they have her wrapped in a warm-toned blue and played with the hyperplush textile of the coat and the floppy collar to distract the eye from her weight. In the end, I give Elle lots of credit for putting her on the cover and sincerely hope that we see more real women on the covers of other magazines in the future.
